About Malala:
It was a beautiful day in the Swat Valley in Pakistan on October 9th, 2012. Malala, only 15 years old, was riding the bus home after taking an exam at school when a masked gunman boarded the bus, asked for her by name, and shot her in the head.
Malala had been targeted by the Taliban for advocating for girls' education after the Taliban came into her hometown and took over & shut down and started destroying the schools. Miraculously, even through being shot in the head, she lived. After recovering from her injuries, she continued her fight for education with even greater determination than before.
Malala became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in 2014 at the age of 17. She co-founded “Malala Fund” with her father, to advocate for human rights and girls' education globally and graduated from Oxford University in 2020.
Malala has spoken openly about forgiveness toward her shooter, in addition to being a survivor. She believes education is the key to breaking cycles of violence and extremism. This horrific experience could have easily turned her bitter, but she chose a different path, one of peace and gratitude. Malala never let the horrific incident silence her, instead, she continued to speak out even louder for girls' education, peace and human rights.Allow 1-2 weeks for shipping
